Job Description:

We currently have a Long Term Contract opportunity for WebSphere Engineer with our federal client located in Suitland, MD. Federal Contract - Only U.S. Citizen can apply

The candidate needs to be able to pass the standard background investigation for government work and must have worked in the United States for at least 2+ years and local to the DC/VA/MD area.  

Responsibilities:
•         Duties include maintaining and monitoring the status of WebSphere, deploying application builds to WebSphere in the various environments (Product Assurance, Internal Review, and External Production, contributing to the performance tuning and test activities, and developing software tools to support the system administration activities and application build and deployment process.
 
Required Skills:
•         Must have 5+ years of experience.
•         J2EE Application Server (WebSphere, WebLogic, Oracle Application Server, etc.) 
•         Configuration and administration on UNIX systems (3-5 years)
•         Scripting Skills using either Shell, Perl, Python, Jython
•         Performance and Availability Monitoring.
•         The ideal candidate will be familiar with: WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Edge Component, Apache HTTP Server, AIX and Linux Skills 
•         Must be prepared to work evenings and weekends

Industry Knowledge: The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of: U.S. Census Bureau data, including demographic, economic, and geographic data.
